What should I do? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! This especially true in external drives TB and up. Once out I connect a Seagate Slim Drive which immediately shows up.

You can "clean" the drive to clean up that mess, wiping all the files and partition information from the drive and making it usable once more. When I put this same drive into my Windows 10 PC it is now recognized. Really helpful. and i used a different usb to check if the port was broken.

The same with every thumb drive I try. You can get Windows to do it, but you have to purchase third-party software. I plugged it into my friends computer and it had no problems. It works well there!

Note that everything except C: has no file system listed. So try out several cables before you give up. If you’ve plugged the drive into a USB hub, try connecting it to the computer instead.
