I've been to probably 20 sites, even Microsoft and Windows troubleshooting, AND Sony. The same occurs when I select open from the Disk Management section, and then click on Folders to display where I am on My Computer. We certainly aim to please! Awaiting reply. The drive should then be recognized by other devices when you connect it to them. I do happen to have a dead drive and if I plug a thumb drive or nano into it, nothing happens. The same with every thumb drive I try.
The driver details for NEC-3540 does not show any problem. When I plugged in the USB drive, I could see it in the device manager, but it did not appear in Windows Explorer.
