I have had the same error almost 5 times. MPEG is heavily compressed, and is also GOP (Group of Pictures - more on that in a moment), which means that there is only about one I-Frame per every 12 - The project loads and plays without the unrendered red bar. Internally, PrE must convert the MPEG files into full I-Frame for Frame-accurate editing, and those are basically DV-AVI files. http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=1602

I have followed this procedure:Connected my Sony HDR-XR 150E to my Imac; connected my Seagate HDD to the Mac; opened FCPX and clicked the camera icon to have the camera window If I have it set to make three copies, the message just says disc 1 of 3 is complete, please insert the next disc.
